Enriched Curriculum

Our multifaceted curriculum focuses on strengthening the skills in reading, writing, and math, while also allowing our students to explore a wider range of cultural subjects. From physical science to biology, geography to history, social studies to Spanish, our students are exposed to a variety of topics that enrich their learning experience.

Our specialized Montessori materials enhance the learning process across all subject areas. Our students also participate in weekly classes in Physical Education, Art, Makerspace and Music, which further nurture their creativity, physical well-being, and artistic expression. From rigorous academic opportunities to extracurricular activities, this level of our program provides opportunities for students to explore their passions, develop critical thinking skills, and build strong social connections.

The Great Lessons

At the beginning of every year, we embark on a journey of knowledge and wonder with the Great Lessons. These lessons of the origin of the Earth are part of the Montessori Cosmic curriculum. These fundamental lessons provide a framework allowing students to delve into the origins of the world and ignite their imagination. On top of this foundation, lessons in essential academic subjects are placed for students to develop a deep appreciation for the interconnectedness of living things. The Great Lessons set the stage for a year of discovery and growth, laying the groundwork for a well-rounded and meaningful education.

Concrete to Abstract

In Lower Elementary, students move beyond the basic understanding of what and why, and are encouraged to delve into the realm of how. This transition marks their awareness of cause and effect, as they try to make connections and understand natural consequences. The innate curiosity of our students drives their quest for knowledge, as they seek to explore and unravel the mysteries of the world.  As their thinking skills continue to mature, they become increasingly adept at analyzing and evaluating information, shaping their understanding of the world and expanding their knowledge base.

Collaboration and Individualization

Children are provided with small group and individual lessons, which help them to plan their daily schedule and take ownership of their learning. Collaborative work is emphasized, as it allows children to practice respecting and valuing the ideas, thoughts, and opinions of their peers. Through these experiences, Lower Elementary students are given the tools they need to navigate the world with curiosity and open-mindedness.Learning starts with the child. The Montessori teacher observes the child and learns their interests and abilities in order to create an environment in which these can flourish.
