We’re seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented School Nurse to partner with students, families, and colleagues to promote a healthy, safe campus. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, highly organized, and energized by teamwork.
Job Summary
Our School Nurse provides professional nursing care and health-services support in a dynamic and collaborative K-8 Montessori school environment. The nurse contributes to a safe, healthy campus by delivering clinical care, managing health records, collaborating with families and health providers, and educating the school community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care, first aid, and triage for students and staff during the school day.
- Administer medications and treatments; maintain accurate MARs and health records in accordance with FERPA/HIPAA.
- Develop and update individualized health care plans; coordinate care with families, pediatricians, and support teams.
- Monitor immunization compliance and required screenings; ensure adherence to NYSED/NYSDOH regulations and school policies.
- Lead health and safety protocols for communicable diseases; guide the community on prevention and response.
- Serve as a first responder for campus incidents and drills; maintain health office supplies and emergency kits.
- Educate students and staff on health, wellness, and injury prevention; provide staff training (e.g., EpiPen, AED, diabetes care).
- Contribute as a collaborative member of the student support team and broader school community.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State required; BSN preferred.
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications (or ability to obtain promptly).
- Prior pediatric, school nursing, community health, or urgent care experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with electronic health records and strong documentation skills.
- Excellent judgment, confidentiality, communication, and cultural competence.

Compensation
Starting salary: $50,000–$60,000, commensurate with experience. Woodland Hill offers a comprehensive benefits package and a supportive, mission-driven work environment.
