Meet Our Leadership

Rebecca Whalen joined the Woodland Hill Montessori School community as Director of Development in July 2025. She fell in love with the Montessori philosophy early on as a parent and brings with her a passion and eagerness for advancing the growth of Montessori education in the Capital Region. Prior to joining the WHMS community she served as Editor of Cityview Magazine in Knoxville, Tennessee while located here in the Capital Region for more than five years. Prior to that she held development and communications positions with Capital Roots in Troy for many years and worked as a reporter at multiple local newspapers. Rebecca holds a bachelor's degree in Journalism and another in Environmental Studies from Ithaca College.
