Michelle Edwards became Woodland Hill's Head of School in 2020, having served as Assistant Head of School since June 2017. She also serves as a trustee on the board of the New York State Association of Independent School (NYSAIS), treasurer of the NYSAIS board, and a mentor Head of School in the American Montessori Society's Leadership Collective. Before becoming Head of School, Michelle previously served as the Director of Curriculum and Faculty Development, and Head Toddler Teacher at WHMS. Prior to Woodland Hill, Michelle was the Head Toddler Teacher at Our World Montessori for five years. She also served as a teacher trainer and mentor teacher. Previously, Michelle was an elementary teacher in San Antonio and in Niskayuna for six years. Michelle was a teacher trainer at the Center for Montessori Teacher Education from 2009-2012, a mentor teacher at Trinity University in San Antonio from 1998-2000, and a field consultant for The Montessori Center of the Rockies from 2014-2015. She has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Grove City College in Pennsylvania, CMTE Toddler Certification, a master’s degree in Educational Administration program at Lamar University, and holds an AMS Infant and Toddler certificate. |
